The fish fauna of the river
The river's fish fauna has changed radically over the years and now consists almost exclusively of allochthonous fish, including the European barbel which, together with the carp, forms the hard core of the river's large rooting cyprinids. Fishing has also changed and gradually adapted to the Po's new guests in both technique and equipment.
